(Week of 7/21/2012) Should Mitt Romney release more of his tax returns? The answer depends on whether or not someone wants him to be President. In the latest Economist/YouGov Poll, 26% of Americans think it’s extremely important for Romney to release more return than just his returns for 2010 and 2011. But 31% say it’s not important at all.

Nearly half of Democrats think it’s extremely important that Romney release more of his tax returns. Two out of three Republicans completely disagree.

One in three registered voters say that if Romney doesn’t release more tax returns they would be less likely to vote for him this fall; but most of this group are already committed to voting for Romney’s opponent, President Barack Obama. Just 4% of Romney’s current supporters say they would be less likely to vote for Romney in this situation.
