Martha Stewart: Trusted in the kitchen, not in the bedroom

Most Americans trust Martha Stewart's advice when it comes to decorating, but fewer trust what she has to say about travel or relationships

The Queen of American domesticity Martha Stewart entered one of the more raucous parts of the internet last week when she did an 'Ask Me Anything' on Reddit. This allows fans of Martha Stewart to literally ask her anything and everything, from tacos and sex advice to her time in prison.

Martha Stewart said that she tries not to dwell on her time in prison - where she served time for financial wrongdoings - and said that she had forgotten what her prison nickname was. Martha also gave some predictably practical sex tips, saying that having a bath or shower before and after (or even during) the act was a good idea, as well as brushing your teeth.

The latest research from YouGov shows that Americans are most trusting about Martha Stewart's advice when she talks about cooking (68%) and decorating (65%). Nearly half of the public (47%) also trusts her advice when it comes to furniture. Opinion is nearly evenly split on her shopping tips, with 39% trusting them and 41% distrusting them.

Only 7% of Americans say that they trust her sex advice, however, which is less than the 16% who say that they would trust the convicted insider trader's financial advice.
