How about that Romney/Ryan ticket?

A majority of the grass-roots conservatives that I have spoken with over the past six months feel that Mitt Romney was thrust upon us by the Republican National Convention (RNC). The truly conservative candidates were washed out in the primaries for reasons as diverse as the candidates themselves. Mitt Romney, while being a successful businessman with a very impressive resume comes to us with his questionable “etch-a-sketch” political practices, which most conservatives were willing to overlook in hopes of, at the very least, replacing the current administration with one that is not determined to turn our country into a socialist experiment.

Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan appears to have been given as a carrot to the grass-roots conservatives to assuage their fears that Romney will not follow through with his promises to return to the constitutionalism of our founding fathers. And with Paul Ryan on the team, the level of conservative philosophy in the RNC candidates has increased exponentially.

How will the Republican candidates do in the upcoming election? It appears that now with Paul Ryan on board, many that were not willing to concede to the RNC that Romney was the right candidate are now willing to take a chance on him.

Paul Ryan has strong conservative ideals with plans that appear to be workable. The real question is whether or not he will have a decided impact on the governing of the country in his role as vice-president under Mitt Romney. However his ideas, plans and innovative approaches toward the recovery of our economy, taxes, and Medicare seem to be steeling the voters to be more agreeable with the seemingly forced candidacy of Romney.

Paul Ryan will assuredly be a real thorn for the Democratic candidates as they must deal with the problem of their Presidential candidate’s poor performance and obvious inability to carry out his duties in his post as well as the consistent appearance of stupidity that is so often witnessed in the Vice President’s public declarations.

Common sense alone will help propel the RNC candidates to the front of the preferred list. Now with a more conservative team and the endorsement of many of the grass-roots conservative organizations around the country, the Romney-Ryan ticket appears to have taken on a forward momentum with many conservatives who were previously in doubt, now willing to get behind the RNC candidates in full force.

All in all, Paul Ryan is an excellent choice for a running mate by Mitt Romney. We can only hope that instead of playing the traditional role of lackey, Paul Ryan will be allowed to have a positive and influential role in the governing of our nation after their win in the November election.
