While members of each party hold very different views of Sean Spicer, almost everyone considers his job difficult
Very few people who follow American politics would be surprised to learn that Democrats and Republicans don't have the same opinion of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. According to a recent YouGov poll involving 6,595 US adults, 62% of Republicans report either a "somewhat" or "very" favorable view of Spicer, while only 13% of Democrats feel the same.
A nearly identical divide appears when evaluating Spicer's level of honesty: 63% of Republicans consider the President's official spokesperson either "somewhat" or "mostly" honest, compared to 14% of Democrats.
But the political differences end when reflecting on the various challenges Spicer faces each day. In total, 83% of Republicans and 75% of Democrats consider Spicer's job either "somewhat" or "very" difficult. Only about one in 10 from either party think his job is easy.
Overall, more Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Spicer than favorable (48% to 28%), and more consider him dishonest than honest (46% to 29%). At the same time, the vast majority of US adults say his role as Press Secretary is difficult, with 51% saying it's "very difficult."
