A new YouGov poll reveals the metro areas with the most trusting neighbors

Residents of big cities aren’t always known for being the most neighborly. But when we asked residents of America’s 20 largest metro areas to rank how much they trust their neighbors, more than half of the residents of all the cities said they are “very trusting” or “somewhat trusting” of their fellow citydwellers.

Residents of the Portland, Oregon metro area are most likely to be trustworthy, with 83% saying they trust their neighbors. The next most trusting cities are Minneapolis-St. Paul at 80% and Denver at 79%.

At the bottom of the list, only 66% of Los Angelinos says they trust their neighbors. Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Cleveland, and Washington D.C. all come in slightly higher at 71%.
