Advertisers are now buying Stories ads across Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.
500 million users are now using Facebook’s Stories feature daily, so it has caught up with WhatsApp and Instagram which had already reached the milestone. This means that one-third of Facebook’s 1.56 billion daily users are now posting or watching Stories every day.
Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has said that 3 million advertisers have bought Stories ads across Facebook’s family of apps. The author of the piece says Facebook could launch a Stories Ad Network for other apps as well to show Facebooks vertical video ads and “get a cut of revenue”.
The feature was launched two years ago and already has more users than Snapchat, which originally introduced the stories format. Overall, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that Facebook’s Q1 2019 earnings show that user growth rate has increased.
