WARC’s Global Ad Trends report finds that internet spend is growing faster than its user base.
The report forecasts that by 2020, internet advertising would account for over 50% of global media spends. This would be about 52.7% of the combined media spend and includes the UK and US markets, among others.
A recent report noted US digital ad spends reaching $107.5 billion making digital the main medium for the first time in 2018. Also, internet spend is growing faster than its user base. Currently, advertisers are spending $73.91 per internet user. This cost was $35.43 in 2010.
The WARC report predicts that internet ad spend is expected to increase up to $298.1 billion this year. Additionally, mobile ad spend is expected to reach $175.3 billion bringing it to 58.8% of all internet spend.
