SEMRush analysed over 50,000 queries to identify the essential ranking factors behind voice search.

The study revealed that for voice search queries, 80% of the time, answers to those queries are from the content in the top three web search results. Additionally, the answer for these queries is also likely to be returned from SERP feature content.

The study also found that 70% of answers for voice search queries occupied a SERP feature. Of these, 60% of answers were from a Featured Snippet result.

The study also noted the complexity and readability of the responses to the voice queries. Typically, the content returned as answers was easy to read with it ranking 8 on the Flesch Kincaid Grade. It further stated that 80% of US consumers would be able to comprehend and read the returned responses to the voice queries.
