A survey from Muck Rack revealed that 59% of journalists still primarily rely on online newspapers and magazines for news. 22% of journalists bank on Twitter, far ahead than 2% of reporters that depend on Facebook.

The study reported that 93% of respondents prefer to receive pitches in the form of one-on-one personalised mails from PR professionals. Whereas, bulk emails have less impact with only 19% of respondents approving of them.

Only 13% of participants said that they like Twitter as a channel for distributing pitches, even though it ranked high as a source for news. 40% of journalists revealed that they consider 9 to 11 a.m. as the most suitable time for receiving pitches.
