This article notes that the large retailers, with annual revenue exceeding $1 billion, observed a growth of 64% in sales during the first day of Prime Day this year, as per Adobe data. This is an increase from 54% of jump in sales registered in 2018.

Retailers with less than $5 million in annual revenue witnessed a 30% hike in online sales during the first 24 hours of Prime Day in 2019. Retailers outside of Amazon saw an increment in web traffic to their website during the same period. This boost in traffic accounted for a 66% jump in revenue.

Outside of the holiday season, this is the third occasion when ecommerce spending crossed the $2 billion mark. Labour Day 2018 and Memorial Day 2019 were the other two occasions.
