Social product ad spending grew by 38% year-over-year in the same period.
Kenshoo’s latest quarterly report stated that paid search spending grew by 10% year-over-year in Q2 2019. Surpassing text ad growth considerably, search product ad spends increased by 30% year-over-year.
This is comparable to Merkle’s recent finding that Google Shopping spend improved by 38% in Q2, with Google search spend growing at 15% year-over-year. The Kenshoo report also found that social product ad expenditure grew by 38% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2019.
The retailers that ran their Amazon sponsored ads through Kenshoo were reported to have spent almost as much as in Q2 2019 as they did in the holiday fourth quarter of 2018. The share of mobile search clicks and impressions was about 70%. Kenshoo has observed mobile spend share to have been approximately 50% for a few quarters now.
