A Marin Software study analysed advertiser data collected during Q2 2019. The report found that with Google Shopping being a key traffic source and source for online orders for many retailers, shopping ads account for 37% of total search spend share.
With Amazon maintaining a healthy lead, ecommerce ad spend recorded a 40% improvement. Globally, paid search click volume has reported a 13% year-on-year growth.
The study also revealed that for Instagram in particular, Stories receive 45% of all Instagram ad spend. Wesley MacLaggan, SVP marketing at Marin Software said, “Marketers are embracing newer features of well-known social media platforms, like Instagram Stories, to reach new customers and the effort is paying off”.
