Mobile was an important factor for Thanksgiving purchases.
As per Adobe Analytics, Black Friday sales touched $7.4 billion this year. It was revealed that $600 million were spent online by 9 am on Black Friday. This was an increase of 19.2% from last year.
Further, for the first time, consumer spending in the US for Thanksgiving was over $4 billion. This meant an increase of 14.5% in consumer spending as compared to last year bringing it to a total of $4.2 billion.
About half of Thanksgiving’s spending came from smartphones, a usage that was observed to be 24.4% greater than 2018. The report further stated that, “E-commerce giants saw a 244% boost in sales on Thanksgiving Day, while smaller retailers saw a 61% increase”.
