Overall digital sales grew 14% from the previous year, indicating consumers’ preference for mobile shopping.
Black Friday mobile sales grew 35% from last year according to a recent salesforce study on general consumer trends for companies that use their software. Mobile devices also edged out computers and all other forms of technology, making up 56% of all digital sales.
Salesforce also predicted that online sales would increase by 15% by the end of the year. Based on the rate consumers are turning to mobile shopping over traditional eCommerce, a large percentage is expected to be on mobile devices.
The report also revealed that PlayStation, Nintendo and Apple were among the top five brands mentioned on social media this Black Friday. Retailers Amazon, Walmart and Target were also among the top social mentions.
