A report from AdColony studied mobile usage and spending habits in the UK during the Christmas season.

Three-quarters (77%) of UK shoppers like to use mobile devices to buy gifts, according to the study. While 10% of consumers prefer to shop online all the time, but 35% of consumers divide their time equally between online and offline shopping. Only 6% said they prefer to shop in-store exclusively.

42% of consumers said that they bought products or services on their mobile devices by clicking on an ad, with 34% only using their smartphones to make purchases. 45% of the respondents said that they found better deals online than while shopping in-house.

The frequently bought products on mobile devices were clothes (35%), travel (16%), home goods (14%) and groceries (10%). The research was conducted on more than 450 respondents between 14 to 75-year-olds.
