The search engine giant will stop supporting data-vocabulary markup from 6th April 2020.
This piece states Google announced that due to the increasing usage and popularity of schema.org, the platform will drop data-vocabulary markup for rich results and focus on a single SD scheme. Though there isn’t a huge difference between the two markups, it is expected to create an impact on the rich results report from April 6th 2020.
Site owners and SEO professionals who use data-vocabulary markup will be contacted via Search Console with warnings to change the markup. The warnings issued from the Search Console will allow marketers to identify and replace the data-vocabulary.org with schema.org markups.
Webpages with data-vocabulary.org structured data will trigger a warning for appropriate rich result type from 20th January to April 6th 2020. After April 6th, an error will be triggered on webpages with data-vocabulary.org structured data.
