Twitter’s ad revenue grows to $885 million in Q4 2019

Monetisable daily active users (mDAUs) on Twitter grew 21% YoY to 152 million users.

Twitter’s Q4 2019 earnings report shares that ad revenues for the platform grew by 12% YoY to $885 million. The total revenue generated by Twitter is up by 11% YoY to reach $1.01 billion.

This includes $123 million from data licensing and other sources. The social platform also saw mDAUs improve by 21% YoY to reach 152 million. This is an 3% jump from Q3. Further, US mDAUs have seen a 15% YoY growth to reach 31 million.

Jack Dorsey, CEO, Twitter states that the addition of over 26 million mDAUs in 2019 was driven by improvements being made to the core product. Twitter’s CFO Ned Segal shared that the impact of bugs in the platform’s mobile application promotion product was “four or more points” in Q4.
