Google has launched the “Rising Retail Categories” tool to provide marketers with latest insights on product categories people are currently searching for amid COVID-19. Much like Google Trends, the new tool displays a list of trending product categories among consumers and changing interests in each category every month.
With consumer interests changing rapidly, Google notes that marketers are “hungry” for more data. Brands can click on a related product category to see trending search queries and scroll down to see maps indicating the highest search volume.
The data will be updated regularly to reflect changes in search interests for the next few months, as per Google. Brands can use this data to create content, promote products and use it as a source for product ideas.
