International SOS surveyed 1,000 professionals supporting the health, safety, security, and wellbeing of employees.
With experts warning about the second wave of pandemic surfacing, 73% of companies believe further disruptions from COVID-19 will affect business continuity. Business with pandemic planning and processes in place (64%) found it useful in reducing COVID-19’s impact on businesses.
To ensure a safe return to work, 60% of companies have prioritised updating business continuity plans and protocols, while 59% are implementing on-the-ground support for employees. Other priorities for companies include COVID-19 compliance monitoring tools (56%) and investing in fit-for-work health screening (50%).
Of those polled, 20% expect mental health issues to cause further disruptions to businesses in the coming year. Disruptions from country lockdowns and international border restrictions were also issues of concern among 67% and 57% of respondents respectively.
