With small businesses growing in importance amid COVID-19, 80% of small businesses were fully or partially open as of June 2020. According to a recent Salesforce survey, 66% of customers believe that small businesses are more important than before.
While consumers were confident about small businesses' ability to adapt, 65% believe small businesses need better technology going forward. Further, 56% of customers of small businesses have increased social media usage. 48% of respondents prefer to interact with small businesses over social media.
When asked about what consumers wanted, 55% wish for small businesses to prioritise customer safety. Additionally, 38% said offering more transactions and customer services online would make them feel safe.
