Alignable’s State of Small Business Report for August surveyed over 7,700 small business owners to understand their concerns during the crisis.
With people slowly getting used to the new normal, apprehensions of a second lockdown in case of a second wave of the pandemic are rising. A quarter of small business owners said their biggest concern is that they might have to close their businesses again.
Nearly half of business owners said the pandemic has negatively impacted their businesses, while 12% reported the outbreak had positively influenced their companies. Running out of financial resources was one of the leading concerns among small business owners.
Customers’ reluctance in returning to stores was listed as another major reason contributing to small business anxiety. This piece suggests complying with safety guidelines and maintaining social distancing norms can help brands assure customers and bring them back.
