The legacy version of Edge will receive similar treatment.

After working for years on trying to shut down Internet Explorer for good, Microsoft will be finally withdrawing support for Internet Explorer 11 across Microsoft 365 apps and services next year. This is expected to happen on 17 August 2021.

On 9 March 2021, support for the existing legacy version of Microsoft Edge will cease. Further, on 30 November 2020, support for Internet Explorer 11 with the Microsoft Teams web app will be withdrawn.

However, Internet Explorer legacy mode in the Microsoft Edge browser will let businesses access old sites that were built for Internet Explorer. This will continue as long as support for Internet Explorer 11 within Windows 10 exists.
