Mask-wearing and social distancing are the top concerns among moviegoers, as per Atom Tickets’ recent survey.
The report states, 74% of moviegoers are ready to return to movie theatres by around mid-September in the US. While 40% are ready to return to the movie theatres immediately, 15% said they would wait until a vaccine was available for COVID-19.
Only 0.8% have no plans of returning to the theatres. Having empty seats between the occupied seats is a pre-requisite for 34% of moviegoers. Further, 30% of consumers said mask-wearing is important.
Of those polled, 85% of moviegoers said they would wear a mask regardless of its requirement by the theatre or the local government. AMC Theatres plans to offer strong incentives to encourage consumers to return to the theatres.
