GamesBeat and iSpot.tv have put out a report on gaming brands ad-spend trends.
The study found that gaming brands have increased their TV ad-spend in August by 26.6% to around $22.5 million, as compared to July. In total, 11 companies aired 43 spots over 5000 times that resulted in 1.1 billion TV ad impressions.
Activision was the biggest spender in August, edging out long-time chart leader Sony PlayStation. California-based Activision spent an estimated $6.2 million airing a single spot for “Call of Duty: Warzone”, resulting in 215.3 million TV ad impressions.
Sony’s PlayStation spent an estimated $5.8 million on four ads, which generated around 214.7 million TV ad impressions. Apart from Nintendo, all top gaming brands put up on their ads during sports programming including the NBA and MLB.
