Virtual live-entertainment events and VR are among things that will outlast the pandemic.

While virtual events are no replacement for live events like NBA games or a comedy club experience, they have massive potential.  Virtual experiences can cater to new audiences, who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend.

Similarly, virtual reality has been around since the 1990s but had largely failed to get much traction. The global health crisis accelerated its growth and renewed interest in the technology, with people visiting popular tourist destinations virtually.

Other pandemic-influenced trends like virtual sports fandom, teamlancing and digital cameos from celebrities are also expected to stay. But, other digital experiences like virtual happy hours and remote learning would not be missed when the pandemic is over.
