Not being able to physically experience a product is among the top e-shopping hurdles, according to a Vertebrae research.
The report found that 48% of US consumers still think it is not safe to shop in stores, while 38% would not try on apparel, accessories, or test makeup in a store due to the pandemic. Additionally, 37% respondents would like to use AR to virtually try on makeup or new looks.
76% of participants that shopped using AR reported increased purchase confidence. The technology’s ability to virtually place objects in real-life environments and virtually try on products gives AR an advantage.
68% of consumers having shopped through AR are likely or very likely to shop from retailers that offer web-based AR experiences. More generally, American consumers want AR experiences on every platform they shop.
