67% of mature organisations agree that social media helped build strong, beneficial relationships compared to immature brands (49%), as per Hootsuite’s Social Transformation Report.
The report found 66% of sophisticated brands noting that social programs have helped them prepare for broader digital transformation. 87% of mature organisations have extended social media to marketing, 68% have extended it to PR and communications and 46% each to sales and customer service.
Further, 72% have reported increased efficiency of other media programs owing to social media programs. Social programs like employee advocacy have improved employee engagement by 26% and boosted brands social media reach via employees’ organic posts by 20%.
While 75% of businesses focused their social media strategy on consumers, mature organisations have widened social strategies beyond consumers. This extension has reached 54% community members, 21% employees, 19% of suppliers.
