41% of PR professionals say organisations allocate budget for PR activities towards DEI

Muck Rack’s “The State of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in PR” survey highlights the role of PR in communicating diversity, equity and inclusion.

Most public relation professionals said they were familiar with DEI practises, with only 3% of respondents were unfamiliar with issues related to DEI.  PR professionals were also confident about advising clients and stakeholders in DEI-related matters.

Around 41% of PR pros said their organisations had allocated resources for public relation activities toward DEI, while 40% said their organisations had not allocated any budget for DEI. Around 53% of respondents believed that employees do not require undergoing DEI training.

80% of respondents said they do not have a contingency PR plan ready for the post-the US elections. 78% of survey respondents also said they are not aiming to influence a specific diverse audience in pursuance of political goals.
