Audible currently has around 11,000 original pieces of content.

Setting it up to compete more prominently with Spotify and Apple Podcasts, Amazon-owned Audible’s catalog now contains 100,000 free podcasts. These podcasts may already be available on other streaming platforms.

Audiences will not need a subscription to access podcast shows like ‘Pod Save America’, ‘This American Life’, and ‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’ on Audible. Currently available through the app, the podcasts will soon be available through the Audible podcast landing page.

The article shares that Spotify currently has at least a million podcasts available. Apple may have around 1.5 million. The bulking up of its library of podcasts on Audible follows the launch of Audible Plus, a subscription offering, in August.
