Brands’ sustainability and ethical practices could drive purchasing decisions for UK consumers

Mention Me’s annual survey of 2,000 UK consumers found that a fifth of consumers only buy from brands they already know.

While Black Friday is most anticipated among consumers, 30% of Britons, aren’t planning to shop this Black Friday, as per the report. However, a quarter of consumers reported avoiding major purchases in the two months leading up to Black Friday sales.

38% Gen Z and millennials held off purchases. One in 10 consumers said a brand’s positive, sustainable and ethical behaviour would influence them. Of those polled, 22% of consumers make purchasing decisions based on the discounts they receive.

When it came to deal discovery methods, online reviews (28%) and recommendations from friends and families (18%) were most popular. 19% of consumers make Black Friday purchases from their mobile devices.
