Britons are spending more time on TikTok

TikTok is also forecasted to surpass 1.2 billion active users globally in 2021.

According to App Annie’s recent report, UK users have nearly doubled their amount of time spent on TikTok. Android users in the UK spent an average of 19.6 hours a month on TikTok in 2020, as opposed to 10.8 hours in 2019.

The short-form video-sharing platform surpassed Facebook in terms of average hours spent per month. The average hours spent on Facebook in the UK grew from 14.3 in 2019 to 16.6 hours in 2020. TikTok has also exceeded the average hours of Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

The average monthly hours spent on TikTok roughly doubled in the US, France and Germany. Additionally, the total time spent on Android devices globally reached 3.5 trillion hours in 2020. The study further found older consumers are increasing the use of mobile apps faster than younger ones.
