Bizzabo’s 2021 Virtual Event Benchmarks report highlights challenges associated with event marketing.
Around 68.8% of event marketers said that providing valuable networking opportunities at events was a significant challenge during the pandemic. More than half of respondents also reported facing difficulties engaging during sessions.
Conferences accounted for 43% of all virtual events in 2020, followed by meetings at 23% and internal events at 13%. The study further found that average event conversion rate, from registered users to users who actually attended, was 50%. Additionally, around 53% of attendees reported being engaged during virtual events.
Bizzabo’s CMO and CCO Alon Alroy said, “I expect more organizers to include smaller sessions that prioritize interaction…” as it can help address networking and engagement challenges. He further added that this trend “will – and should – continue in 2021.”
