Twitter’s financial report for Q4 2020 shows a 30% YoY increase in advertising revenue with it reaching $1.15 billion. Total ad engagements increased 35% in the quarter and cost per engagement decreased 3% in the same period. Twitter’s overall revenue improved 28% YoY in Q4 2020.
Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, CEO, attributed the ad revenue growth to “new ad formats, stronger attribution and improved targeting”. For the fiscal year, a net loss of $1.14 billion was reported. , owing to the pandemic.
The quarter also saw the average daily active users grow to 192 million as compared to 152 million in Q4 2019. Mobile daily active users were observed to be 37 million for Q4 2020, as compared to 36 million in Q3 2020.
