Layouts from the Showcase Shopping ad groups will become part of Products Shopping ad groups after the former’s removal.
In an email sent to advertisers recently, Google said it will discontinue Showcase Shopping Ad Groups and stop serving its ads as of 1 April 2021. However, performance data and deleted ad groups of Showcase Shopping ads will be retained in the accounts report.
Ad groups, like merchant carousel, will dynamically feature in Products Shopping, and increase ad traffic, notes Google. Available in countries like the US, Australia, Brazil and Taiwan, Showcase Shopping ads were first launched in 2017.
Showcasing Shopping ads club together a selection of related broad-general term products to introduce a brand to consumers. Showcase Shopping Ad groups are usually shown for broad and general search queries like laptops or refrigerators.
