In a move echoing the ones made on Google Shopping and Flights, the search engine giant is now opening up free listings within Google Hotels.
Google has offered free listing opportunities for hotel and travel companies to strengthen its position in the sector. Apart from paid results, Google Hotel search will now show free listings, providing users with a broader range of hotels to choose from.
The addition of free listings is expected to increase booking traffic and user engagement on the platform. The company further said existing hotel partners do not need to take any action to appear in free booking listings.
“When travel does resume in earnest, it’s crucial that people can find the information they’re looking for and easily connect with travel companies online,” Google’s Richard Holden said.
