Reddit opens up a monthly active user base of over 430 million globally to brands.

Marketers must be aware of some of the best practices of using Reddit where they can find close-knit communities to engage. To start off, brands must be “Redditors” or members of Reddit first. This would involve answering queries, participating in subreddits and posting as a user.

Businesses must note that content creation for Reddit will differ considerably as compared to creating for Facebook or Instagram. Steer clear of unoriginal content and lean into the usage of texts, visuals, videos and GIFs. Content for the platform needs to be original and authentic.

Identify subreddits that are relevant enough for a brand to participate in. Starting up a new subreddit of your own could happen further down the line. Subreddits have a culture of their own and not matching it could backfire.
