50% of site visitors wish for a site to load within two seconds or under.

A website’s speed has an impact on its search ranking, user experience, brand visibility and sales and revenue generated through digital. Upon experiencing a slow website, 70% of site visitors will never return to it.

Ideally, a site’s load time should be under three seconds but a five second time frame is considered good as well. Passing the 10 second barrier will lead to increased bounce rates. Further, a slow loading site hampers perception resulting in the site being viewed as unsafe and untrustworthy.

Bringing the bounce rates down ultimately can boost conversions. To improve the overall site experience, work on web design, fonts, web structure and readability in addition to site speed. Optimising a site’s code and securing a good hosting power can optimise site speeds.
