The company is designing a mobile version, which is currently not live.
Facebook’s NPE, experimental app development, department has launched a new Q&A platform called Hotline, with live-streaming capabilities, similar to Clubhouse. Unlike Clubhouse’s open-ended audio-only discussions, hosts on Hotline can use videos and schedule formal presentations with built-in Q&A ability.
Hosts can record their sessions in both audio and video formats, as well as respond to text-based questions from the audience. Audience members can upvote questions they want hosts to answer and respond to ongoing conversations with emoji reactions.
While a website for Hotline is now live, it allows users to log in via their Twitter accounts. There’s currently a waitlist and a tool for users to apply to host their own shows. Individuals from the audience may also be invited to the virtual stage to ask their question live.
