The social media giant is testing labels applied to news feed articles in the US to provide users with more context about a Facebook Page.

Facebook will start adding labels to articles from Pages that show up in a user’s news feed. A recent tweet from the tech conglomerate said, “We’ll gradually start applying labels including ‘public official,’ ‘fan page’ or ‘satire page’ to posts in News Feed, so people can better understand who they’re coming from.”

It is aimed to provide more context about what kind of page produced that article. Currently, this test is limited to the US only. The feature is expected to roll out soon after the tests are finished.

This feature would most likely provide users with additional information, helping avoid confusion. The social platform will let Page Admins to label their pages as Facebook says it wants the process to be fair.
