Around two-thirds of British consumers feel strongly about sustainability
Sustainability is important for consumers across Europe, according to a new UPS Smart Ecommerce report. Consumers want businesses to deliver convenience but at the same time pay attention to their delivery methods and manage their carbon footprint.
75% of the 10,000 European consumer surveyed said they wanted to large retailers reduce their carbon footprint. 54% also expect Sustainable packaging from big brands, and 50% expects the same from smaller brands.
Major industry players – including eBay, Trouva and Wolf& Badger – agree and believe consumers react to a retailer’s commitment to sustainability. When sustainability measures are implemented, brands are seeing benefits in the form of lower returns rates.
