Tremor Video’s recent report highlights US consumers’ attitude towards shopping, traveling, dining and TV viewing amid the pandemic.
56% of Americans are optimistic about the rest of 2021 with another 60% of respondents predicting a return towards normalcy in that time. While returning to normalcy, 83% of respondents are expected to maintain or increase their current spends.
Consumer spending will be maintained or increased at the highest rates across categories like grocery, beauty and personal care, consumer electronics, home and garden, and home entertainment. 84% of Americans plan to shop in-store this year.
Where 29% participants will do all of their shopping in-person, another 23% would only do most of it offline. The report predicts greater consumer engagement with paid and free TV streaming. Despite the return to normalcy, 59% of those surveyed will continue shopping locally.
