Due to the pandemic, US Sporting fans will be unable to attend the Tokyo Olympics later this year.
53% of Americans plan to watch at least part of the Olympics this summer, according to a survey of 2,200 Americans by Adweek and Morning Consult. Another 53% respondents are somewhat interested in the Summer Olympic Games taking place this year.
However, 41% are either “not very interested” or “not interested at all”. Plans for watching the Games are highest among millennials (58%). 60% participants will watch the Games live on TV, while 17% would watch it via streaming services.
26% of millennials plan to watch the Games on streaming services. Concerning the International Olympic Committee’s decision to ban players from protesting on the podium, 46% supported the ban, while 30% somewhat or strongly opposed the ban.
