TikTok tests an in-app shopping feature

According to a recent Bloomberg report, TikTok is testing an in-app shopping tool similar to Facebook's, in Europe, by collaborating with several brands, including UK-based company Hype. TikTok's latest in-app shopping feature will have a separate shopping tab under a brand's account, with photos and prices for the products being listed.

With creators on TikTok having the ability to sell merchandise on the app, this isn’t the first shopping feature TikTok has created. Although Hype's TikTok page currently lacks a shopping section, TikTok confirmed that a test is taking place.

TikTok's content style of bite-sized videos appears to be best suited for ads, while still making the content easily consumable, notes the article. Facebook has also been testing sticker ads in Stories.
