US millennials plan to fly domestically

A recent study by Tripadvisor and Accenture across the US found that 54% of consumers earning over $50,000 would travel by air the next time.

62% of those respondents willing to spend $5000 or more on their next trip haven’t booked their trips yet indicating an opportunity for brands. Of those polled, 41% of those who travelled in 2020 have already booked a trip for 2021 and 87% have booked their trip for three nights or more.

77% of those that haven’t booked a trip yet are also planning for three nights or more. 34% of respondents earning $100,000 or above have a trip booked. 25% in the same income bracket would fly abroad.

Millennials (58%) earning above $50,000 plan to fly domestically, while 25% have plans to travel internationally. Further, 37% of high-earning millennials plan to spend more than $5,000 on their trips.
