The Google-owned video platform has provided access to Clips to 10 times more channels.

Originally intended only for live streams, Clips was launched in January this year. Unlike YouTube Shorts, Clips allows for repurposing of existing content. This feature is currently in alpha testing phase and enables “users to grab a specific block of time from one of the channel’s videos and turn it into a shortened highlight.”

In the coming days, Clips would be rolled out to 10 times the number of people who initially had access to the feature. As per YouTube, gaming channels would be given a priority over others.

After getting the ability to create Clips, creators would see a new button underneath the video viewer. They can select the exact time block, add a title and instantly generate a clip of between 5 and 60 seconds in length.
