Image posts drive LinkedIn engagement

Social Insider recently analysed 39,465 business posts on LinkedIn to assess engagement benchmarks.

Visual posts on LinkedIn deliver more engagement for small and big businesses, while video posts boosted engagement for mid-size businesses, as per the report. Of the posts analysed, 49% were images, followed by articles (38%) and videos (12%).

The average engagement rate per post on the platform was observed to be 0.35%. The median number of likes for posts on LinkedIn was higher for visually oriented content. Articles had the highest average engagement per impressions, particularly for smaller accounts.

Small and large accounts should post more images to improve engagements and medium-sized accounts could post videos for better engagement. Large and medium accounts can further increase the number of comments by posting videos.
