Twitter's Fleets get full-screen ads

The company will partner with a “handful” of advertisers to make the Fleets ads visible to a limited group of US android and iOS users.

Twitter’s Fleets feature, which is similar to Instagram and Snap’s Stories, will now be updated with full-screen ads. Images and videos in 9:16 aspect ratio will be supported, while videos will have a 30-second runtime, and a “swipe up” call-to-action will be added to Fleets ads.

Brands can also see standard Twitter metrics like impressions, profile views, clicks, and website visits, among others. Twitter plans to study how full-screen ads perform and develop future iterations of other full-screen formats, as per the company executives.

With a 32% YoY growth to $899 million in April 2021, Twitter has announced a slew of new features, like allowing Android users to directly search for direct messages. The micro-blogging site recently acquired Scroll.
