Netflix's online shop debuts

Shoppers can expect branded apparel from Japanese fashion house, Beams.

Netflix’s ecommerce store, Netflix.shop, will allow viewers to purchase apparel, jewellery, and collectibles of its original series. While most of the consumer products will continue to be sold through other channels through partnerships with major retailers, Netflix will enter into curated partnerships with brands and designers for the new store.

The store’s offerings will come to include branded housewares and collectibles inspired by series. Currently such items are being designed for the show Lupin in collaboration with the Louvre Museum.

The shop accounts won’t be linked to Netflix accounts and interested shoppers need not have a Netflix subscription to purchase. At last count, last quarter, Netflix had 207.6 million subscribers.
