With Prime Day 2020 proving to be a success despite the pandemic, Criteo’s data suggests retailers must be optimistic about Amazon Prime Day 2021 (APD). Criteo’s research revealed that the 81% of people that plan to shop on APD find that the event lifts their mood to purchase.
Consumer electronics, video games and toys are among the most sought after categories this year. Running promotions during APD is recommended as those that did in 2020, saw 43% higher sales on the first day as compared to others.
The report estimates that tech will lead the way and eventually other categories could see higher average sales as well. This means that deal-driven purchases of Alexa can inspire purchases of other tech and electronic equipments.
