Jungle Scout surveyed 1,066 US consumers to understand their buying habits, behaviours and preferences.
The study revealed that on every online purchase they make, 66% respondents expect to receive free shipping. More specifically, 80% of those polled expect free shipping on spending a certain amount online.
Timely delivery of online orders is important to consumers. Where 91% respondents want deliveries to be made within a week, 47% of participants would spend extra to ensure faster shipping. Only 9% of those polled expect same day delivery.
The report also found that second-hand products are gaining greater popularity. Over the last year, 44% of respondents bought or sold pre-owned products. Another 32% are looking for second-hand products when shopping online.
